My name is Megan Patton, or Doe as my family calls me.   I am a quilter, painter, art gallery owner, wife, and mother to a dog named Leon.

I graduated from the University of Mississippi with a BFA in Art.  After graduating I became a portrait artist and immersed myself into art festivals.  In 2011 a friend and I opened Yalo Studio and Gallery.  Painting has always been my first love, but my passion for quilting has slowing been making its way to #1.

Actually, I thinks it's already there...

My grandma and great-grandma were both quilters. I did not want the art of quilting to end with them; so I taught myself.  It was 2008 when I made my first; it was hand-pieced and hand-quilted. My first seven quilts I hand-pieced! Yeesh! How'd I have time for that?!  I then bought my first machine and began machine piecing.  I still only hand-quilt though!

My husband and I live in Water Valley, Mississippi. It's a small town located 20 minutes south of Oxford, home of the University of Mississippi.
