Welcome to my blog. I am Megan Patton, or Doe as my family calls me. I live in Water Valley, Mississippi in a 106 year old house. I am a quilter, painter, wife, and mother to a dog named Leon.
This blog is mainly about hand-quilting, and sometimes about my home, family, and the little town I live in.
My first Interest in quilts began in high school. We were visiting my grandparents when my Nanny wanted to 'show us something'. She pulled five quilts down from the top of the bedroom closet. Nanny carefully took each one out of its protective wraps as my sister and I looked on with awe. She told us that she and her mother had made them and that one day each of her five granddaughters would get one. Fifteen years later I got to take a quilt home. It was then I decided I wanted to learn to quilt. I've been addicted ever since.
